William Pitt Union

Originally the Hotel Schenley, the William Pitt Union now functions as one of two student unions at the University of Pittsburgh. Hotel Schenley was the first skyscraper hotel in Pittsburgh, housing artists, singers, professional athletes, and politicians. Many of the hotel’s historic features were preserved on the building’s main floor.

Today, the William Pitt Union is located at the center of campus and houses several offices for student clubs and organizations, as well as Student Affairs. The building features a food court and lounge on its lower level, as well as several meeting and event spaces for students, faculty, and staff to reserve.
